[Movies] Producer Comments On 300 Sequel
Posted by Ashish on 07.03.2009

300 producer Mark Canton recently spoke with MTV News about the upcoming 300 sequel...

"Things are always looking good with ‘300,' it's a blessing and a gift. Zack's a genius, and no matter where you go it's the one movie that people around the world seem to somewhat identify with the most. We're thrilled for [a sequel]; it'll be a blast. There's a new Blu-Ray coming out all over again shortly, so that's great. It's like the gift that never stops giving."

"[The key to the sequel] is about getting it right, you know. Frank is a perfectionist, and so is Zack. And I think they set the bar pretty high."

I suggest the sequel be called 300 Zombies.

A Sequel? Um How? Didn't they say all that they needed to say with "300"?

Must we go Tropical?!?!?

Zack is a genius? Let's see, the guy makes bloated "action" films that drag on forever because it's entirely in slow motion, and is slavish to the comic books, which he derives the entire creative content of the film from.

Considering all that, the ham-fisted acting and the sluggish pacing, what exactly does Zack Snyder do that equals "genius?"

I gotta say I did love 300 but don't understand how a sequel would work. A Prequel just doesnt' seem fun and a sequel wouldn't have any satisfaction because while Xerxes' armies were defeated, he was never killed by them or anything like that. This is assuming of course that they follow historical truth which was a bit overlooked in the first 300

Check your history: Xerses was defeated much later during a naval battle. Between then and the events portrayed in 300, a lot happened, and Xerses was very successful until that point.
